Doubts by Reader-Termites Management

I decided to create DOUBTS BY READER as a sharing page with my readers. Last week, I received questions about termites, wood borers and rats. Therefore, I believe with DOUBT BY READERS, it may help you to clear your doubts; if you are having the same doubts as the rest who have posted the queries to me.

Some people are still not clear on termites treatment which available in the market. Well, there are 2 types of termites treatment. Pre treatment and post treatment. Pre treatment for termites is a treatment which the pest controllers need to carry out before the building is up or before your concrete pouring stage. This is a treatment where you soak the entire land (piece of your built up land) with chemical. Objective of this treatment is to build a chemical barrier between your built up land with the earth.

You may visit this video link for a better understanding. (Soil Treatment)  This link is an extract from You Tube.

As for post-treatment, there are a few types for you to choose. The conventional type is by drilling the holes (slab injection) at the perimeter of your building. Specifications on slab injection (either single or double wall; only at the perimeter of the building structural or all the perimeter walls in the building) is based on the type of chemicals that you choose. Different chemicals require different type of specifications. You need to refer to your individual pest controller. But 1 thing in common for all the drilling method is, you need to ensure your pest controller drill 18 inches deep and inject 5 liters of chemical dilutions into the soil. It is a wise choice to inform your pest controller on the type of soil at your treated area. This information is useful for your pest controller to advise on the suitability in engaging the slab injection method. Absorptance of the chemical into the soil needs to take into consideration. Objective of slab injection treatment is to build a chemical barrier at the perimeter of your building which can help to deter or treat the termites colony if infestation occur.

Please visit this link (Slab Injection) for your better understanding on the treatment. The stated link is an extract from You Tube.

There's 1 more treatment which is called termites baiting system. Baiting system does not require you to drill holes at the internal of your building. You need to plant In-Ground (IG) stations at the perimeter of the building and these stations can act as your prevention treatment by giving you an alarm system once 1 of the stations is hit by termites before it attacks your property. If your internal property is infested by termites, Above Ground (AG) units will be installed. AG stations can only be installed by the presence of active/life termites.

Please visit this link (Termites Baiting System) for your better understanding. The stated link is an extract from You Tube. There are plenty brands of baiting systems in the market other than Sentricon. You may choose the best for yourself. Other brands in the market are X-TERM, NEMESIS and EXTERRA. The mentioned brands are the brands which available in Malaysia.

Besides the above mentioned treatments, there is another technology termites treatment which well known as TermGuard system. This system is originated from Australia. They actually installed their patented PVC shields at the perimeter of your building and areas which is highly infested with termites. The pest controllers will actually inject chemicals through the injection point as shown on the above photo and chemical injection can be refilled year after year. You may visit their website Termguard System if you want to know more about this system.

From the above explanation, I hope you will have a better understanding on termites management in the market. Choose the best for yourself!
